How to convert CSV to an HTML table

Three steps from raw data to copy-paste-ready HTML.

1. Paste or upload

Paste CSV directly into the landing area, or drop a CSV, XLSX or XLS file. The delimiter is auto-detected.

2. Edit in the grid

Fix values, rename columns, add or remove rows. The HTML output updates in real time.

3. Copy or download HTML

Toggle options like thead/tbody, escaping and minification, then copy the output or download as an <code>.html</code> file.

Frequently asked questions

What HTML output options are available?

You can toggle thead/tbody wrappers, HTML entity escaping (recommended to prevent XSS), minification, and add a custom CSS class to the table element.

Is my file private?

Yes. Everything runs in your browser. Your CSV or Excel file is read and processed on your device. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is logged.

Why should I enable HTML escaping?

HTML escaping converts characters like <, >, & and " into safe HTML entities. This is recommended when you plan to inject the table into a web page to prevent XSS vulnerabilities.

Can I add a CSS class to the generated table?

Yes. Use the class field in the output panel to set a class attribute on the table element, e.g. data-table or my-table stripe.

Is there a file-size limit?

There is no server-side limit because nothing is uploaded. Very large files may take a moment depending on your computer.

Can I embed this converter in my own app?

Yes. The engine that powers this page is the TabularJS JavaScript library. You can embed it in React, Vue, Angular or plain JavaScript.

Does the HTML output keep cell colors, bold, or borders?

No. The HTML export includes structure and calculated values only — cell background color, font weight, and borders are not carried over. Charts are not exported either.
